 ABOUT FB CAMP CAMP
COSTS CAMP SCHEDULE REGISTRATION
HFL Summer Football Camps are for homeschool boys between the ages of 6 and
18. The camps are designed to teach and improve the skills and knowledge needed
to play key offensive and defensive positions. The drills are helpful for
players on all skill levels.
HFL Summer Football Camps
The HFL is excited to offer summer football camps,
exclusively for homeschoolers. The camps are designed to teach and
improve the skills and understanding needed to play key offensive and defensive
positions in flag and tackle football. The focus of our summer training is
to give each participant the opportunity to learn the required skills needed to
play various positions, including quarterback, running back, receiver, offensive
and defensive line, center, linebacker, and defensive secondary. We will also
spend a little time developing each participant's ability to kick and
punt. Our camps are not specific to any one position because we believe it
is important for players to have a sound understanding of every position on the
field. A quarterback is much more effective if he understands the fundamentals
used by the defensive secondary and a linebacker will excel once he completely
understands the role of a running back. Likewise, a receiver must have a working
knowledge of the tactics used by the defensive secondary.
All camps will consist of Thursday and Friday evening sessions
running from 6:00pm to 9:00pm and a Saturday morning session that will be held
from 9:00am to 1:00pm. The football camps for young men,
ages 6 to 18, will offer training for three age brackets; ages 6 to 10, ages 9
to 14, and ages 13 to 18. We have intentionally overlapped the age brackets for
these camps to promote more effective skill training. This age overlap will
provide the flexibility needed for participants to be grouped based on maturity,
size, and skill, in addition to age. As should be expected, brothers and friends
will be given the option of participating together, regardless of age
differences. Our goal is always to keep families and friends together, when
possible.
Camps will begin with group prayer. We will move from
prayer into an exercise program to work on the physical conditioning of each
camp participant. Next, we will conduct specific drills focused on improving
each boy's effectiveness in the different skilled positions highlighted in the
camp. Each session will close with an individual or group contest to
measure fundamentals learned in that day's session. The daily contests may
include an obstacle course, speed/endurance races, long snapping, kick,
punt, and pass competitions, or our Iron Man contest.
Dads are encouraged to volunteer to help with our football
camps. We have moved the camps to the evenings and Saturdays to
allow more dads to participate. We need any and all dads that are
available. There are a number of volunteer positions available that do not
require previous football experience. If you are a dad that is
interested in helping with a camp, please make note of your interest in the
comments section of your son(s) registration form. You do not have to
volunteer for all three sessions. Pick the ones that work best with your
schedule.
