ABOUT CONTACT FB AGE/WEIGHT REQS REGISTRATION FEES REGISTRATION
Since our inaugural contact football season in 2004, we have continued to see fantastic growth. In 2008, we had almost 200 players in the most exciting season in the league's history. With the plan to add another location in 2009, we are certain to be blessed once more. Please join us for an outstanding season of football!
2009 Fall Contact Football Season
The Homeschool Football League will kickoff its 2009 season of contact football on Tuesday, July 21st with a two-week conditioning program. The program is designed to help condition the young men participating in the fall contact program and allow coaches to assess the skill level of each player. We will meet on Tuesdays (July 21, 28) and Thursdays (July 23, 30) from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. This conditioning program should provide a great foundation for the fall season of contact football, which officially starts on Saturday, August 1st. The conditioning program is strongly recommended for players of all ages, but families are not required to participate as a prerequisite to joining us for contact football.
Football practices will begin on Saturday, August 1st for all age groups in all locations. Each location will hold practices on Tuesday and Thursday evenings throughout the season. Saturday, August 29th has been reserved for our annually Father and Son Flag Football Games. We will play our first regular season game on Saturday, September 12th conclude our fall activities with awards banquets on Saturday, November 21st. The banquets will be held in the evening at Colonial Baptist Church.

HFL Age/Weight Requirements and Schedule
The HFL's contact football program is open to homeschool boys between the ages of 7 and 18(or high school graduation). Players will be assigned to teams based on the age and weight guidelines list in the table below. In addition to age and weight, skill level will also be a determining factor in team placement. Exceptions to the age and weight guidelines will be made as deemed necessary. These exceptions must be approved by the league director and will be handled on an individual basis.
Practices will be conducted on weekday evenings with games being played on Saturdays. The practice schedule is also listed below by age group. A complete season schedule will be emailed to each family once the team distribution lists have been created. The frequency of our practices differs by age bracket. Our Mighty-Mite division will practice once per week, while the older divisions will practice two times each week. The number of practices has been limited to reduce scheduling burdens for families participating. In addition to our weekly practices, we will play one game each week. Games are scheduled for Saturdays to allow dads to serve as coaches, assistants, referees, score keepers, etc. Our game schedule will begin on Saturday, August 29th with the HFL's heralded "Father and Son Flag Football Game". This game should provide some good, old-fashioned competition and a bunch of laughs.

Uniform Costs
The Homeschool Football League will access a "New Player Fee" of $100 to each new contact football player. This fee will only be charged in the player's first season of contact football. The funds collected will be used to offset the cost of uniforms needed to equip new players. If this expense places any type of financial burden on your family, you are invited to participate in any of the fundraising opportunities we have available. Proceeds from the fundraisers can be used to offset the uniform cost. Any family generating more funds than needed to cover the "New Player Fee", can use the remaining balance to cover other costs associated with the football season (i.e. registration, gas for practices, misc. equipment, etc.).

HFL Fall Registration Fees
Registrations for the fall season of contact football will be accepted through September 12th. The discounted fee for all early registrations received or postmarked by June 10th will be $175. Families with more than two brothers participating in the league will receive our large family rate of $475 per family during this early registration period. The large family rate will allow all brothers in a family to participate at a fixed cost. The early registration discount will not apply to applications received or postmarked after June 10th.
Fundraisers are available for any family with a financial burden that might prevent it from participating in our program. We will also offer a payment plan option to families registering prior to the June 10th early registration deadline. One-third of the total balance may be paid on or before June 10th, another third of the balance paid on or before June 30th, and the remaining balance on or before uniforms are distributed on July 12th. We hope the fundraisers and the payment plan will provide the relief needed for families with limited finances. If you have additional needs, please contact the league director, Earl Pendleton.
